Murder in Egypt
A young girl is kidnapped and her Egyptian mother and American father hire Hank Tower, a New York PI and ex-spy, to find her. Tower and his ex-NYPD associate, Arnie MacGregor, agree to work for nearly nothing to bring her home safely. Their investigation uncovers far more. At a secret meeting with his former spy boss Tower learns that the kidnapper is planning a devastating crime, sending the case into a whirlwind of murder and intrigue.
Tower’s ex-boss hires him to capture and, if necessary, kill the kidnapper before he succeeds, and not to be fooled by his well-groomed appearance or connections in high places. He’s a killer.
The case takes Tower from New York to a grand estate in Greenwich, CT, to clubs and high-end hotels in Cairo and to the vast, arid land of the pyramids and Sphinx. All the while, the kidnapper is charming the young girl away from her parents.
Complicating the case is the beautiful Finnish spy who works with Tower and tries to separate him from his longtime companion, Carol Tomkin. At the same time, unknown to Tower, Carol is being entertained by a handsome architect while at sea on a private yacht. The strain may prove too strong for their relationship.
The case forces Tower to choose between rescuing the young girl and stopping the kidnapper’s mass-murder scheme while saving his relationship with Carol. How he resolves all three is revealed in the story’s riveting ending.
